Return Bars now require QR codes for faster, contact-free returns
In an exciting update to our Return Bar policy that improves the experience for both shoppers and Returnistas, QR codes are now required for all box-free, in-person returns.
Why the change?
Contact-free returns proved to be extremely popular when we first introduced the idea to accommodate for the pandemic earlier this year, ultimately solidifying our strategy and direction. Shoppers expressed gratitude over an experience that made them feel comfortable returning in person, while our location partners appreciated the extra precautions for their frontline employees.
The QR-code requirement is just another step in our commitment to safe and happy communities. It’s an expansion of our contact-free process that enables faster drop offs for shoppers while requiring less work for our location partners. Returnistas no longer need to ask the shopper a series of questions to pull up their return, but instead simply scan the code that the shopper holds up on their phone.
How it works
Shoppers already had the option to use a QR code when they visited a Return Bar in the past. However, it’s now a requirement to present the code in order to drop off a return. Customers will initiate the return online in order to generate the code, instead of having the Returnista pull up the information on their tablet.
Customers can start their return in one of two ways:
via the retailer’s website, or
by visiting http://happyreturns.com/start and following the prompts.
Both methods will provide the shopper with their QR code and directions to the nearest Return Bar. If they forget to generate a code before coming in, all drop-off locations will have posted signs with instructions for downloading the code on their phone.
We’re excited about the ability to offer an even faster in-person return experience that shoppers love, and in a way that makes them feel even more comfortable.
