COVID-19: How Happy Returns is responding

[This blog was last updated on Friday, July 31.]

Solving real problems for real people is one of our core values as a brand. As we learn more about COVID-19, we understand that solving real problems for real people in extraordinary circumstances like these means taking care of one another in new ways—often in ways that adjust quite frequently.

We are all adjusting to what COVID-19 means for our individual businesses and lives. This blog intends to provide answers to common questions from Happy Returns’ retail customers and location partners about our services and operations. We’re constantly updating it with the most up-to-date information.

FAQs from Retail Customers

Are Return Hubs still operational?

BLANDON: OPEN (LIMITED STAFF)

As of today, 3/24/2020, we have reopened our Blandon hub. The state of Pennsylvania added new clarifications to their Executive Order over the weekend and deemed both "Warehousing and Storage" along with "Electronic Shipping and Mail Order Houses" as "life-sustaining businesses". We are observing the same gathering limit of 10 or less as we are in Van Nuys, so while we will not be operating at full capacity, we're excited to resume operations.

VAN NUYS: OPEN (LIMITED STAFF)

On Thursday, March 19, California Governor Gavin Newsome issued an executive order that all non essential businesses be shut down through 4/19/2020. In order to comply with this order we will remain open, but with fewer than 10 employees at this location. Due to the limited staff we are allowed to have on site, item processing will be subject to delays.

In addition to our current health and safety measures, we will continue to practice additional Hub protocols such as:

  • Requiring all employees wear gloves

  • Cleaning stations at every start, break, and lunch of a shift

  • Eliminating sharing of desks, tools, or supplies.

Our number one priority is to keep our team safe, so we'll adjust as needed.

Is Happy Returns’ headquarters still operational?

How often can I expect to hear about Return Bar reopenings?

We will continuously edit this page and email you as updates become available. Please continue to check this blog and Return Bar locator page for real-time updates.

Has Happy Returns made any changes to the return process due to COVID-19?

We’ve worked with our location partners to streamline our in-person return process in order to limit personal contact and adjust to new safety practices in retail environments.

Should we expect shipment delays due to Return Bar closures?

Currently, expected shipment delays are minimal. Several items remain at a very few Return Bars that needed to close suddenly.

What are best practices for returns during this unique time?

  1. Consider extending return windows for shoppers who are navigating new location hours and closures, and may not feel safe leaving their homes..

  2. Consider eliminating fees during this tumultuous time to increase customer loyalty and encourage shopping.

What business updates should we communicate to Happy Returns?

  1. Changes to warehouse deliverability.

  2. Adjustments to your return fees and/or return window.

  3. Stores re-openings or hour changes.
